Diverse Cultural Events to be Held in Gwangju in October
A series of cultural events are set to take place in Gwangju during the month of October.
The annual ‘2014 Cultural Month’ that takes place in different city and province every year will be held in Gwangju this year from October 17th for three days at the National Asia Culture Complex and Daein Art Market as well as in the Yangrim-dong and Dongmyeong-dong area.
The grand opening ceremony of the cultural month event will be held on Saturday, October 18th from 6:30 p.m. at the Asia Culture Square in front of the Asia Culture Complex.
Gwangju-based world-renowned media artist Yi Yi-nam will showcase his media artwork during the opening ceremony with a local percussion group, ‘Eolssu’ and musicians from Gwangju, Quanzhou and Yokohama.
On October 17th, Daein Art Market will operate an ‘Asia Culture Street’ that invites foreign students studying in Korea and children from multicultural families in the area for cultural and artistic sharing with local residents.
From October 17th for three days, ‘Green Road Media Art Festival’ will be held across Jang-dong and Dongmyeong-dong area, featuring media works from 27 local media artists.
