Registered Automobiles Surpass 580,000 in Gwangju

The total number of registered automobiles in Gwangju surpassed 580,000 as of September, indicating 2 out of 5 Gwangju citizens possess their own vehicles.

According to Sarang-bang (사랑방) Media, the total number of vehicles registered in Gwangju was tallied at 585,000, up 3 percent from the same time last year and up 18 percent from the figures recorded five years ago.

Small cars or sedans marked the largest portion at 80 percent or 470,000, followed by trucks at 88,000 or 15 percent and large cars at 25,000 or 4 percent.

The most popular automobiles in use among citizens who drive sedan cars were sedans from 1,600cc to 2,000cc with the registered number of cars at 212,000.
