Gwangju to Host Kimjang Culture Festival
The city of Gwangju will host the Kimjang or Kimchi Making Culture Festival from November 22nd to December 14th in the Kimchi Town located in the Gwangju Namgu-district.
The upcoming event will feature Kimchi making experiences and the sharing of Kimchi made during the event.
Participants will be given all necessary items for Kimchi making, such as aprons and gloves. Vegetables and kitchen supplies will be provided for free but participants will be required to purchase cabbage and seasonings.
Civil groups and tourists from across the country will come and visit the Kimchi making culture festival as part of various tourism programs.
Kimchi making culture or Kimjang was designated as a UNESCO important intangible cultural heritage earlier this year.
