Gwangju Type Job Model Corporation To Be Established By September 23rd

Gwangju City Halls plan to establish a venture for a new finished car factory is on track.

Yeongju Ahn has more.

The joint venture for the Gwangju-Type Job automobile factory, which has been disrupted by numerous problems including the appointment of its CEO, is finally expected to be established on September 23rd.

There were concerns that the establishment might be canceled due to opposition from labor circles, but the company is expected to complete the process of establishing the corporation by the 23rd and start the project in earnest as the labor sector reached an agreement on detailed conditions.

To bring out the complete agreement, Gwangju City presided over the third labor-management-government meeting, consisting of 25 representatives from Gwangju City, local business communities, labor and civic groups at the City Hall's conference room on Wednesday morning.

With the attendance of labor group representatives, the meeting went ahead smoothly and ended up adopting a resolution that calls for active support for the early stabilization of the joint venture.

Regarding this, Gwangju Mayor Lee Yong-Sup said the Gwangju-Type Model project can solve high-cost, low-efficiency problems of the domestic automobile industry and enhance the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.

Lee added that it is a mission given to himself and a mission given to Gwangju, and promised that he will make sure to succeed in living up to the expectations of the citizens by successfully establishing the corporation.
