Typhoon Mitag leaves 4 dead, 2 missing
Four people were killed and two others went missing as Typhoon Mitag slammed the southern and eastern regions of South Korea with heavy rain and strong winds.
All four casualties were reported in North Gyeongsang Province.
A woman and a man, both in their 70s, were found dead in a flooded stream last night and two people were killed after their homes collapsed during the predawn hours.
Two other people were reported missing after they were swept away by rapid currents.
On Jeju Island, dozens of residents have been displaced from their homes, while around 1,500 people have been evacuated in nearby regions due to flooding and other damage.
Some 680 flights at southern airports were also canceled, while 100 sea routes were closed.
