Gwangju to Ban Business Operation with Doors Open While AC is On
Business operators or shops on the streets that turn on air conditioners while leaving their doors open to attract more customers will face up to 3 million won in fines from June 30th to August 29th.
Air-conditioned indoor room temperatures in public organizations in Gwangju will also be restricted to 28 degrees Celsius as the government aims to minimize energy waste.
All outdoor shopping malls and buildings will be banned from opening doors to attract customers while air conditioners are in operation.
The required average daily temperature inside private business corporations and commercial buildings is set at 26 degrees Celsius from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
