전두환 사자명예훼손 재판 4월 6일 재개
Trial against Chun
DooHwan(전두환)'s defamation of deceased to resume
on Apr. 6th
The trial against
Chun DooHwan(전두환), the former president of Korea for defamation of the
deceased will resume on Apr. 6th.
There
was a delay in the trial with the resignation of the former judge.
According to
Gwangju District Court on Mar. 16th, there will be a defamation of the deceased
preparatory court date on Apr. 6th at Gwangju District Court. Therefore, Kim
JungHoon(김정훈) the presiding judge of the 8th Criminal Exclusive
Division will hold the trial.
The preparatory
court date is a process to organize the prosecutor's and the defendant
arguments and plan for the trial. This is not compulsory for the defendant to
attend.
However, with the
change in the judge, the court procedures will be reformed, and thus, Chun will
need to attend for verification of the defendant's identification.
The criminal
courts will necessitate the defendant to attend the preparatory court trial
date so the trial may progress. .Therefore, even if the court permits absence,
the defendant must attend on the first trial date and sentence date.
