Transition Committee Suggests Major Changes in Municipal Policies
A Transition Committee for the newly elected Gwangju Mayor, Yoon Jang-hyun, ‘Hopeful Gwangju Preparation Committee’, reportedly submitted a final report that contains major changes in various municipal policies.
According to the final report, the mayor will make a decision on the stations for subway route no.2 and the KTX Honam route’s additional stop at Gwangju station in 100 days from the time Yoon takes office through negotiations with professionals and citizens.
The Transition Committee also ordered a major management evaluation and policy investigation on operation methods of the Gwangju Biennale Foundation for remodeling and innovation, along with the construction of the athletes’ village near Nambu University, where the main swimming stadium is located.
Committee members announced that the restructuring of the city hall will be completed by the end of July and human resource allocation will be conducted from the end of August to early September.
