Middle and High School Students May be Allowed to Wear Shorts as Uniforms
Starting next summer, middle and high school students in Gwangju will be allowed to wear shorts as uniforms.
The Educational Office in Gwangju recently sent an official transcript on the ‘2015 School Uniform Operation Manual’ that bans middle and high schools in Gwangju from purchasing two different types of regular and non-regular uniforms.
Referring to non-regular uniforms uniforms with shorts and shirts that are made of cotton for the hot summer season will be allowed in Gwangju.
Mujin Middle School in Gwangju had already adopted a ‘non-regular uniform’ for the hot summer season, allowing students to wear uniforms that are shirts and shorts and Gwangju Middle School also stated that it will reflect on students’ opinion on whether to switch summer uniforms to shorts or not starting from next summer.
