to total 25,424, new virus cases under 100 for 6th day, still concern over
cluster infections
South Korea's COVID 19 cases rose
by double digits for the 6th day today, but untraceable and sporadic cluster
infections continue to put strain on the country's figh against the virus.
Imported cases also reached an almost three-month high.
The country added 91 more COVID 19
cases, including 57 local infections, raising the total caseload to
25,424.
The figure marked a sharp increase
from 58 cases added yesterday and 76 reported Monday.
Kim GangLip(김강립), a senior
health official said during a daily briefing that "this week, there has
been no sharp increase in the number of new cases. But, there are still cluster
infections from risk-prone facilities, such as nursing homes and door-to-door
sales businesses."
Kim added that "it is
worrisome that the number of new cases from the greater Seoul(서울) area is not
showing signs of a clear slowdown.
As of today, the total number
of infected across the country has reached 25,424, among whom 23,584 have been
lifted from quarantine after recovery. There are 1,390 people who are under
quarantine, with 70 of them in severe condition, and 450 deaths from the virus
so far.
