외국인 주민, 총인구의4.3%인 222만명, 광주 전남 11만 명
Foreign Residents reach 2.2 million people, composing
4.3% of the total population, Gwangju-Jeonnam totals 111,772
As of Nov. last year, there were some 2.2 million foreign
residents found to be residing in Korea. This is an 8% increase compared to the
year before, to now compose 4.3% of the total population.
This is according to the '2019 Municipality Foreign
Residents Status' released by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on Oct.
29th. The total number of foreign residents as of Nov. 1st last year was
recorded at 2.21 million people.
As for this region, the foreign population was 43,053 for
Gwangju City and 68,719 for Jeonnam Province, for a total of 111,772.
Foreign residents refer to those who are residing in the
country for more than 3 months yet are without Korean citizenship, those
naturalized as Korean citizens, and foreign residents' children.
