Gwangju strengthens COVID-19 prevention rules
Gwangju City decided to
maintain its 1st level of Social Distancing. However, disinfection measures
have been intensified greatly starting today. Our Hyungjin Ro reports.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Government decided to maintain its social
distancing level but has strengthened the prevention rules instead. Gwangju
Mayor Lee Yong-seob said in a briefing session that the City will drastically
toughen such rules starting today.
Although the criteria for upgrading the social distancing level has not
yet been met, the decision was made as the College Entrance Exam is only 18
days away, and also based on the serious situation of virus infections in
multi-use facilities such as hospitals, nightlife venues, and universities.
Under the new quarantine rules, dancing and moving between seats are
prohibited at nightlife facilities, while door-to-door sales businesses will
not be able to operate after 9 p.m.
In all restaurants and cafes over 50 square meters, it is mandatory to
keep quarantine rules such as wearing masks, managing the list of visitors, and
regular disinfection and ventilation.
Food intake is also prohibited at singing halls, indoor standing
performance halls, indoor sports facilities, and religious facilities.
