distribute fresh students for middle and high schools on Jan. 28th and 29th
Gwangju Office of Education
revealed on Jan. 21st that new students entering into middle and high schools
within the city will be assigned on Jan. 28th and 29th.
This is through a computerized
lottery that middle school students will be distributed on the 28th and high
school students on the 29th.
Therefore, the 14,319 students
enrolling into middle schools and 10,803 students enrolling into high schools
will be assigned to their schools.
There will be 90 middle schools
and 49 high schools in the lottery, excluding 19 Specialized Trade high schools
which will be recruiting on their own.
The number of freshmen entering
middle and high schools have decreased by 1,295 and 1,147 students
respectively. Compared to last year's new students, these are decreases of 8.3%
and 9.6% each for middle and high schools.
