Gwangjy Mayor Yoon Jang-hyun Takes Office and Begins Official Duty as a Mayor
Newly elected Gwangju Mayor, Yoon Jang-hyun was sworn in as mayor of the city yesterday at the city hall and began his official duty.
In his inauguration speech, Mayor Yoon announced that he will put strong emphasis on an administration that focuses on the people’s lives, their values, and respect for them.
Mayor Yoon also proclaimed the opening of a ‘New Yeongsan River Era’, which will feature the joint development of Gwangju and Jeollanamdo.
In addition, Yoon revealed his ambition to construct an independence city, a human rights city, and a safe and clean city as well as an economically and culturally prosperous and welfare-oriented city, featuring the direct participation of the citizens.
