Recovery seeming far', Gwangju under 10 years old, Jeonnam over 60 years old
with spiking COVID19 patients
With the Daily Recovery in Steps or ‘Living
with COVID19’ put into practice in the country, there is record-breaking
transmission continuing, with non-stop transmission between students in Gwangju
City and seniors over 60 years of age in the Jeonnam region.
According to the health authorities of the
Gwangju and Jeonnam regions on the 29th, there were 896 new cases found in
Gwangju City in Nov. alone. This is the second highest recorded number of
patients following the Sept. record of 904.
Also, the transmission was especially large
between students from elementary, middle, and high schools as well as
kindergartens and child care centers, with 82 under 10 years of age and 189
cases among teenagers.
Therefore, adolescents and children under
19 years of age formed 30.2% of the total patients found within the month.
As for the Jeonnam region, there were 28
patients found yesterday, 14 of whom were in their 60s, and today's 17 patients
in the morning had 8 people over 60. Therefore, transmission between seniors is
a large concern in the Jeonnam region.
