Jeonnam Province issues Risk Warning for High Pathogenic AI

Jeonnam Province issued a Risk Warning Period between Nov. 29th and Dec. 26th for highly pathogenic Avian Influenza or AI within the province.

This is along with the increased influx of winter seasonal birds and the sporadic occurrence of the highly pathogenic AI virus within the province that the period was set as such.

According to Jeonnam Province, there were 173,000 seasonal birds observed at YeongAhm(영암) Lake and Haenam(해남) Gocheonahm(고천암) Lake as well as 15 other locations recently.

Compared to the same period last year, this was 2.2 times as many birds, and 5.1 times as many recorded last month.

Therefore, during the period, there is additional risk of highly-pathogenic AI, with preventative measures to be strictly followed.
