Prosecutors demand 10 month sentence for Military Commander accused
of perjury at Cheon DooHwan(전두환)'s May 18th trial
The Prosecutors demanded a 10 month sentence
for Song JinWon(송진원), aged 90 years old who
is alleged to have committed perjury at the deceased former President Cheon
DooHwan(전두환)'s criminal trial.
The Prosecutors requested the court
to sentence Song to 10 months on the 2nd at the Gwangju District Court 9th
Criminal Division with Kim DooHee(김두희) as presiding
judge.
The Prosecutors explained that
"The truth investigation for the May 18th Democratization Movement is very
significant. However, considering the defendant's age being 90 years with no
previous criminal records, (we) demand 10 months."
Song was indicted for committing
perjury at Cheon's 1st trial of defamation against the deceased back in Nov.
11th in 2019.
