Gwangju Jeonnam Home-treated COVID19 patients exceed 100
The Gwangju and Jeonnam regions' home-treated patients with COVID19 have exceeded 100 following the lack of inpatient treatment beds at hospitals.
According to the health authorities on the 2nd, the new daily patients found in the country exceeded 5,000, the highest ever recorded, while there is a lack of inpatient beds.
Amid such a situation, the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions have over 100 patients being treated at home instead of isolation facilities.
So far, 66 patients are being treated at home in Gwangju and 37 in the Jeonnam region, totaling 103.
Out of 611 available beds in Gwangju and 852 in the Jeonnam region, 61.7% and 46.1% are being used in Gwangju and Jeonnam respectively.
However, considering the increasing rate of transmission as well as the appearance of a new virus variant, the health authorities are advising home-treatment with internal policies for further extension.
