광주 학교급식 친환경쌀 잔류농약 ‘이상 무’

School Meals in Gwangju Free of Pesticide Residue

Gwangju Office of Education has announced that eco-friendly rice distributed to schools in Gwangju for school meals was found to be ‘Pesticide Residue Free’, indicating healthy and safe school meals among students.

The educational office conducted safety inspections on organic rice used in a total of 15 schools in Gwangju and no school reported pesticide residue or any other harmful substances in the rice.

As of June 2012, the Gwangju Office of Education allowed ‘Joint purchase of organic rice’ in schools in Gwangju and starting this year, all schools in Gwangju will be provided with organic rice free of pesticides use in the production and harvesting processes.
