송정역 이용객, 하루 평균 1만 800여명 기록
Daily Average Number of Passengers at Songjeong Station Marks 10,800
The daily average number of passengers using Gwangju Songjeong station has grown by 61 percent year on year since the opening of Honam KTX earlier last month on April 2nd.
According to the city of Gwangju, the daily average number of passengers using Gwangju Songjeong station and the Honam KTX from April 2nd to the 29th was tallied at 10,800, up by more than 4,000 from the same time last year.
The largest number of travelers using the station, 15,000, was recorded on the first Saturday following the opening of the Honam KTX.
With bullet trains linking Gwangju and the capital regions being frequently sold out, the city of Gwangju has requested that the Korea Railway Corporation increase the number of trains allocated to Honam KTX.
