Korea’s First National Sports Center for the Handicapped to Open Today

Korea’s first national sports center for the handicapped will open in Gwangju today. The opening ceremony will feature some 500 personnel, citizens and public officials, including Gwangju Mayor Yoon Jang-hyeon.

The sports center will be opened near the Yeomju General Gymnasium in Gwangju Seo-gu district.

The 3-story building is comprised of multi-purpose sports facilities equipped for volleyball and basketball, a health check-up center and training rooms as well as seminar and conference rooms.

Professional health trainers will be dispatched to the sports center and customized health and sports programs for the handicapped will be available soon.
