광양시, 첫 전국섬진강미술대전 개최한다
The City of Gwangyang to hold ‘The First National Seomjingang Art Exhibition’
Scheduled to be open in July, ‘The First National Seomjingang Art Exhibition’ will be hosted by the city of Gwangyang and supervised by the local branch office of the Korea Arts Association.
The Seomjingang Art Exhibition is the only contest for exhibition that covers the local river.
The contest is divided into various fields such as Korean painting, western painting and calligraphy. The first applications will be accepted from July 1st to 3rd while the second applications will be accepted from July 13th to 16th.
The winners of grand prizes in each category will receive 3 million won and be invited to the future exhibition.
The manager of the arts association’s local branch office, Lee Hui Gyeong, said the exhibition contest will not only advance the artistic infrastructure, but also encourage the harmony of the Honam and Yeongnam regions through the arts.
