Gwangju City Mayor and South Jeolla Province Governor Lee Nak Yeon to Introduce Outcome of Local Governments at Policy Gathering
Gwangju City Mayor Yoon Jang Hyeon and South Jeolla Province Governor Lee Nak Yeon discussed local governments at a policy gathering of New Politics Alliance for Democracy yesterday.
Mayor Yoon announced that Gwangju has been making efforts to create an attractive city where people can live together harmoniously and future generations can fulfill their hopes and dreams. To this end the city has opened a Creative Economy Innovation Center, promoted the eco-friendly car industry, and developed cultural industries.
Governor Lee explained that South Jeolla Province has been providing organic rice to school food services at local kindergartens and high schools and has opened maternity units at public medical centers. He also added that efforts to landscape islands and create forests have been carried out as local residents responded positively and financial means were secured.
