Monsoon Rain Begins Tomorrow with Scorching Heat Expected on the Weekend
Torrential downpours are in store for Gwangju and Jeollanamdo from tomorrow for three days, with a scorching weekend expected across the province.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, Gwangju and Jeollanamdo will be under the influence of a seasonal rain front starting tomorrow and torrential rain showers will ease early on the 17th.
As rain clouds and downpours are forecast to clear up from this weekend, scorching hot conditions are predicted in Gwangju and Jeollanamdo on Saturday with afternoon highs peaking at well-above 30 degrees Celsius.
For today, mostly overcast skies are forecast with daytime highs reaching as high as 31 degrees Celsius in Gwangju.
Jindo and the Yeosu region will be the first to see the rain starting early tomorrow afternoon with the rest mainland Gwangju and Jeollanamdo regions receiving rain showers later in the night.
