Asia Culture Complex to Open Up in Steps by 2017
The national Asia Culture Complex will begin opening parts of the cultural complex starting this month and complete the construction of the entire facilities this October.
According to the Asia Culture Hub City Preparation Committee, the construction rate stands at 92 percent for the complex and the entire facility will be complete in October.
When complete, the national Asia Culture Complex will become Korea’s largest cultural facility, stretching out some 160 square meters in downtown Gwangju and featuring five cultural agencies, including an Asia Art Theatre, a Culture and Information Center, a Democracy and Peace Agency and a Children’s Culture Center.
The preparation committee also announced that it has set a target of 1.7 million visitors by 2016, with a financial independence rate of 7.6 percent.
