Extended Vacation Campaign for Revitalization in Tourism
In order to revitalize domestic tourism and relevant industries that have been experiencing a continuous downward trend in sales revenues since the April 16th Sewol Ferry Accident, the government will carry out a ‘One More Day for Vacation’ Campaign.
A general plan on ‘Methods to Stimulate Domestic Travel for the Promotion of the Happiness of the People and Economic Revitalization’ was submitted to the cabinet council meeting yesterday.
A total of 15 nationwide governmental organizations and municipalities as well as economic groups took part in preparing the general plan.
According to the plan, the Ministry of Security and Public Administration and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance will encourage public officials working at the two ministries and other affiliated public organizations to spend an extra day on vacation this summer at a domestic travel site.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as well as the Small to Medium Business Administration, will also take part in conducting a public campaign that encourages going on an extended summer vacation.
