Gwangju as a Center of Asian Design
The city of Gwangju will host the ‘2014 Asia Design Forum’ from November 2nd to the 16th at the Gwangju Design Center in order to build collaborative networks to realize a hub city of design and art.
According to the city and the Gwangju Design Center, some 13 design associations in Gwangju and relevant organizations held a meeting at Jeonam National University to discuss detailed plans for an ‘Asia Design Network Project in Gwangju’.
Design experts and related organizations insisted that effective construction of a network with domestic and international design partners and corporations is necessary to transform Gwangju into a global design city that puts strong emphasis on human rights, peace and democracy.
In addition, the upcoming meeting is expected to generate nationwide attention on the 2015 International Design Alliance set to take place in Gwangju next year in October.
IDA or International Design Alliance is an international gathering that features participation of influential artists across the world.
