Yeongsan River Refurbishing Network to Carry Out Exploration
The Yeongsan River Network will carry out an extensive exploration of the Yeongsan River from July 27th to July 31st.
Sponsored by the Yeongsan River Council Government, the exploring Network is composed of 16 civil and environmental communities from Gwangju and South Jeolla Province. 100 youths and 20 civilians will be separated into 3 groups to carry out the exploration under the slogan ‘Yeongsan River, Nature, and Humans’. The exploration party will hold its commencement ceremony in the Yongso area of Damyangun District and will process ecological research in the Gamagol area.
Moreover, the expedition will carry out ecological research on fisheries, water love performances, and a Yeongsan River ship exploration at the entrance of Ssangbongsa Temple in Hwasungun District.
The secretary general of the Network emphasized focusing on restoring the River into a river of life by monitoring the ecology and water quality of Yeongsan River and carrying out water love promotion campaigns.
