Asiana Airlines to Sponsor 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade
One of Korea’s major airlines, Asiana Airlines, will reportedly sponsor and provide free transportation for participating athletes from across the world who visit the country to participate in the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade.
Round trip airfares to be shouldered by Asiana Airlines are estimated to be 12 to 15 billion won.
Gwangju Mayor Yoon Jang-hyun and President of Asiana Airlines, Kim Su-cheon, signed a Memorandum of Understanding that pledges the airline’s support and sponsorship of the upcoming Gwangju Summer Universiade.
Asiana Airlines will provide full airline support, such as flights and luggage services, to the international athletes along with the promotion of the Universiade games in its airliners that travel 100 routes across the world.
Universiade Organizers will grant Asiana Airlines rights to use official titles as sponsors of the sporting event and its logo as well as advertising on signs in stadiums.
The 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade will be held from July 3rd to 14th in Gwangju and Jeollanamdo, featuring 20,000 university athletes from 170 countries.
