광주비엔날레 20주년 특별 프로젝트 오늘 개막
Special Project for Commemoration of 20th Anniversary of GJ Biennale Kicks Off Today
Jointly organized and hosted by the Gwangju Biennale Foundation and Gwangju Museum of Art, the special exhibition project, ‘Sweet Dew – After 1980’ to commemorate the 20th year anniversary of the Gwangju Biennale will kick off today at the Gwangju Museum of Art.
The special exhibition project will reflect on the Gwangju Spirit, which is believed to have played a role as a major driving force in the 1980 May 18th Democratization Movement.
Composed of exhibition, lecture and performance, the special project exhibition ‘Sweet Dew – After 1980’ will feature the participation of domestic and international artists, academic scholars and democratic activists.
For the exhibition program, artworks by 47 artists from 14 different countries, including the late German artist, Kathe Kollwitz, who was actively involved in promotion of human rights against the Nazis in the 20th century will be available.
Also, some 100 academic scholars, human rights activists, cultural and civil affairs leaders will give a series of lectures.
