Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae Myeong traveling between Gwangju and Seoul to win voters' hearts
Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae Myeong, one of the Minjoo Party presidential hopefuls, is concentrating his efforts on winning the hearts of the Honam people.
He visited the region on the 19th, the earliest among the Minjoo presidential hopefuls, finished his schedule and headed to Seoul the next morning.
Once he completes his schedule in Seoul today, he is planning to come back to Gwangju and then he will again head back to Seoul the following morning for a TV debate for the Minjoo Party presidential hopefuls.
His so called 'Gwangju-Seoul commute' is likely to continue till the 27th when the Gwangju open primary for the Minjoo Party is held.
His aid and a Minjoo Party lawmaker, Je Yoon Gyeong, pointed out that late President Roh Moo Hyun was able to win the presidential election in 2002 only after winning the hearts of the Honam people and added that Lee is planning to continue to appeal to the people of Honam.
