Japan’s Sumitomo Seika Chemicals To Invest 1 Billion Dollars in Yeosu
Jeollanamdo has announced that the Japan-based chemical company Sumitomo Seika will establish a new corporation for investment in Korea at Yeosu worth 1 billion dollars and build production plants for high absorbent resin.
Headquartered at Osaka in Japan, Sumitomo Seika Chemicals is Japan’s representative synthetic chemistry company producing functional and fine chemical materials.
The Korean branch of Sumitomo Seika is expected to produce high absorbent resin materials used for making paper diapers and export products to China and Southeastern nations.
Jeollanamdo added that base materials for absorbent resin will be provided from the regional Yeosu Industrial Complex and this is predicted to bring significant growth in employment and export rates to Yeosu.
