Green Light for Next Year's Municipal Finance in Gwangju and Jeollanamdo
Upon the release of the ruling Saenuri party's plan to actively cooperate in securing financial budgets for Gwangju Metropolitan city and Jeollanamdo, hopes are high on securing the funding for municipal budgets that is needed to operate the city and province.
The ruling Saenuri party held a financial budget and policy discussion meeting last week with representatives from Gwangju and Jeollanamdo, including Gwangju Mayor Yoon Jang-hyun and governor of Jeollanamdo, Lee Nak-yeon.
At the meeting, the first conservative candidate to win an election in Jeollanamdo, Saenuri Rep., Lee Jeong-hyun, from the Suncheon and Gokseong constituency, Rep. Ju Ho-yeong, head of the policy committee, and Rep. Lee Hak-jae, a member of the budget planning committee were in attendance.
Mayor Yoon requested municipal funding of 120 billion won for the operation and development of the national Asia Culture Complex and the construction of a one million-unit automobile production plant as well as for preparation for the 2019 World Aquatics Championship.
Governor Lee requested national cooperation in securing budgets for balanced regional development and the construction of the Honam Expressway Railroad.
